The Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund sponsors a wide range of bodies and activities pertaining to education and culture in Israel and overseas. The Fund was established by Zvi Meitar in 2004 with the aim of supporting young people outstanding in their field and promoting selected projects. While the headline "Education and Culture" is wide-ranging, the people and projects we have chosen to support so far, as indicated by our website, create a colorful and varied mosaic.
Our involvement in the projects we support does not end with their financing. We look upon the people who implement them as our partners all along the road and we try to be involved wherever possible in order to contribute our experience and business know-how. Our hopes and aspirations are to establish continuing relationships and accompany the chosen projects once they are in place. We frequently initiate preliminary contacts following appeals addressed to us.
After 10 years of activity, we look back on the efforts of our fund so far with satisfaction, coupled with the regret that we cannot support all the deserving projects that have been brought to our attention.
The fund reviews new proposals only by invitation. Our committee assembles twice a year and usually we do not add more than one donation per year. The funds are given only through collaborations with institutions and not privately. The fund does not support private funding requests.
The categories on the right reflect the varied nature of the Fund's activities.
