In 2016, the Zvi & Ofra Meitar Family Fund announced for the first time the Meitar Photography Award in cooperation with the International Photography Festival.
The Award, worth 50,000 NIS, will be given to an Israeli artist whose works have not yet been shown in a solo exhibition in a museum and will be chosen by a team of professional judges. A portion of the award will be used for the production of such an exhibition in the framework of the next International Photography Festival.
The International Photography Biennial is being produced by Platforma LLC, and aims to promote Israeli photography and expose it among the broader public as well as display photography of both renowned International photographers from around the globe in addition to upcoming photographers who are at the starting point of their careers.
The festival combines a broad array of photography related events including exhibitions, presentations as well as lectures and tours. Within its framework, the festival will also offer courses in photography for people with special needs and encourage their integration in society while promoting the awareness for their abilities and their needs.
